Ron Carter was the eminent
voice of the lower register in the last quintet led by Miles
Davis between 1964 and 1968, and is considered by many the
most recorded bass player in the history of jazz. This image
is taken from the Wayne shorter session Speak No Evil, one
of the many classic Blue Note sessions to which he brought
his immediately recognizable sound.
