Joe Henderson was signed to Blue Note at the urging of Kenny Dorham, and this image was taken during a rehearsal for the Our Thing session, Henderson’s second outting as a leader for the label. Between June 1963 and January 1966, he laid down the music for five records for Alfred Lion and Francis Wolff.
