Jackie McLean led twenty-one record dates for the Blue Note label between 1959-67, starting with Jackie’s Bag and ending with Demon’s Dance. This image was taken in 1958 during the legendary Cool Struttin’ session. Sadly, the record cover art has become more famous than its leader and composer, Sonny Clark.
