In 1960, at 22, Freddie Hubbard laid down his first sides as a leader for Blue Note. This image was taken that same year, during the Roll Call session by Hank Mobley. It was one of the many classic dates he appeared on as a sideman for the label. The following year began his tenure with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers.
